At CBWES Inc. we believe that when we work together and share knowledge great things can be achieved. This is why we’re founding members, with Saint Mary’s University, of the TransCoastal Adaptations Centre for Nature-Based Solutions. The TransCoastal Adaptations Centre is a resource, research, and knowledge hub for building climate resilient coastal communities and ecosystems by protecting, enhancing, and restoring natural processes through innovative research and collaboration; implementing nature-based solutions. To achieve this it strives to create synergies between academia, industry, government and non-profits to work towards on-the-ground solutions that benefits communities and organizations as a whole.

One of the ways CBWES Inc. creates synergies is by offering training and guidance in nature-based solutions to individuals, associations and companies. The goal is to build capacity within communities and networks to address climate change challenges with a new set of alternative—yet effective—nature-based solutions.

CBWES Inc. also supports multiple student research projects every year. Community outreach and education is important to CBWES Inc., and CBWES Inc. has conducted open sessions on salt marsh ecology, presented at numerous conferences (including having our sites featured at multiple conferences), and attended town meetings as subject experts on local community issues.
